The Band |
Ultimate was not a band at the beginning, they
were just friends who had met in high school a few years before. A few
hangovers later, they naturally decided to become a band, as each of them
could (more or less) play an instrument.
This led to their first gig in a bar on April 17,2004 in Lyon, France.
Ultimate was born.
They began with covers of several of their favorite bands such as Metallica,
Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more and then
got down to work on their own songs. In 2007, they reached the highest local
stage of the battle of the bands "Emergenza". That event cheered them up so
the four wankers decided to record their first five-song EP "Carved Upon
Your Face". The cd gets promising reviews so far.
The 3rd song of the EP "Fuck You and Let Me Bleed", is on the French Metal
compilation #7 entitled "Retour de Flammes" and of which 1000 copies were
released at the end of 2008.
During 2009' summer, Ultimate's drummer Thierry
left the band to get cold in the frozen lands of Quebec, so it's with a
great pleasure Ultimate welcomes Yann behind the drums, more motivated than
ever to continue on the path, aiming it's first album realization.
Ultimate's style is quite Metal: take some of Metallica, mix it with
Scorpions, add a little bit of Trivium, Megadeth and Iron Maiden, you'll get
an idea of what Ultimate is..
